Brent Thomson, known as the Godfather and trail master of Bootleg Canyon, suffered a heart attack last Saturday while riding the trails that he cut into the mountains surrounding Boulder City, NV. Located a short drive from Las Vegas, the Bootleg Canyon trails host Interbike’s annual On-Dirt Demo, bringing much joy to the hordes of bicycle dealers and industry types that flock to the trade show each year. Brent’s dedication to creating, maintaining and promoting the trails of Bootleg Canyon has created one of the sweetest riding areas in the Southwest.

Brent underwent the second Quadruple by-pass of his life on January 14th. Sixteen years ago he had the same surgery performed due to an unusually high hereditary cholesterol build-up.

Brent’s job provides no health insurance and his hospital expenses are estimated to grow to hundreds of thousands of dollars, so any help that his friends in the bicycle industry can provide will be graciously appreciated.
