Like comparing Amtrak to EuroRail

Posted: January 2nd, 2008 by Pinchie

The fabled Hungarian Postal Service — that’s “Magyar Posta” to you, mister — has disbursed 4 million euros to buy 4800 bikes and 30 bike trailers for its mail carriers.

Meanwhile, you may be wondering whatever happened to the US Postal Service’s kinda lame plan to run a bunch of Segways? That program was suspended in 2004 when it was discovered that it’s easier and less dorky just to walk [kidding!] until a better battery with greater range could be developed.

You might have thought that all those years sponsoring, y’know, a professional bike racing team, might have given them a few ideas beyond this classic television commercial.
