Mount Snow Mountain Bike Festival Announced

Posted: July 15th, 2009 by Karl Rosengarth

Vermont’s Mount Snow has announced that the inaugural Mount Snow Mountain Bike Festival has been added to the US Kenda Cup East, USA Cycling’s Pro XCT tour presented by Sho-Air, the Kenda Downhill Series, and the Trek Women’s Triathlon Series events that are scheduled to take place at the storied ski resort on August 7-9th, 2009. What’s on tap? According to the promoters:

Thrill seekers can test the law of gravity or take a dive on the Slip ‘N Slide while competitors can flaunt their prowess in the Bicycle Limbo, Skid Contest, Tire Toss, or on the single-track, where both amateurs and pros can see who’s really the best in the East. Skills clinics and kids’ activities (like a haystack dive, bicycle arts and crafts, a sticker ride, movie time, and a S’Mores party) for the next generation of off-road enthusiasts are interspersed with more than a dozen planned rides, ranging from beginner to expert. Jeff Lenosky will entertain you with his signature brand of trials stunts. Darkness provides ambience and organizers have added movies, fireworks, and live music to the festival’s “after hours” atmosphere.

Parking for the festival is a $10 per day or $20 for the three-day weekend, and activities are free. Camping will be available or lodging is available for those so inclined. For more information, visit the festival website.
