Well, I'm ordering a Karate Monkey, but I find that I'm having last second reservations over the bb height. It looks low. The bb on my SS is low and it is really starting to frustrate me, I don't want another bike with a low bb.
Cloxxi, Maurice, either of you have an opinion? Are there any other eccentricities to the KM that would be good to know about?

BB drop is 68mm, but that's okay, as the axles sit 31.5mm higer from the ground over 26".
68mm works out to around 300mm/11.81" unloaded, with the biggest knobbies presently available (WTB Nano or tip : Bontrager Jones).
IMO, 300mm is very typical for a hardtail, at least that's what I'm used to from 26" bikes.
My KM is fine with 180mm cranks, no pedal hits at all.

Thanks for the info. I compared it to bikes I've had before and bb height shouldn't be an issue.

I've had no problems with the Monkey, but my 89 Stumpjumper's got 190mm Bullseye cranks, so I've learned to ratchet my cranks over obstacles pretty well.
