So I'll preface this by saying I like bikes, but I'm not a technical guy. I like to "set it and forget it", just get on and ride...So with that said, why does my buddy's Simon Bar feel WAY more like a BMX bike than my Niner One9? Both 29ers, both 90mm stems, both Soul Cycles forks, both low rise bars.

SBS has shorter chainstays and longer top tube, and longer head tube by 1/4" to 1/2" for each measurement, it looks like the BB height might be up to an inch lower, and it has a steeper headtube angle by 0.5 deg.

Thanks for the info. It makes sense if a bmx bike has a longer top tube and shorter stays like the SBS. Wanna buy a Niner?
Wait- what does the longer head tube do for or against me?
Also, I think the higher BB is ok for New England, no?

Head tube height will affect the bar height, a short headtube allows lower bars, a tall headtube will lift the bars unless you start using an inverted stem and upside down riser bars.
Generally a higher BB helps reduce pedal strike so is better for rocky and rooty surfaces, but it does raise the CG so you don't have quite the same fast handling quality. A higher BB is more useful with a suspension fork.

Hey Rocky-thanks for all the input. Check this out, we've both been comparing bikes without knowing. I geuss our stems are different after all, but other than that they are close.Sorry to bring this link here though.
