For a bombproof set of 29er tubeless wheels, build 'em up with Stan's Arch rims, or for a race wheelset, look at Stan's 355's.

Yes, go with Stan's. Get info on spoke tension at Stan's site.

thanx guys. a few more questions if i may. i run a pair of 6" center lock rotors now when i go 29er should i go for a larger front rotor, or will the bigger wheels stop the same?( dont laugh i am new to the 29er). one more.... looking for a new fork to go with the MCR i want 20mm, love it. what is the best fox or rockshox has to offer at 80mm. i know i can go to there sites but i want your opinions. thanx

I've had really good luck with my set of stan's arc's. I wish I would have gotten the wider flows though. I'm running a RS Reba. It seems alright, the dual air is lots nicer than the Tora I had.

160mm rotors work well on both of my 29ers in the Illinois flats. I'm about 180lbs fwiw.

160's should be fine. I ride rigid, can't help you with the fork.

Unless you're doing DH runs on your 29er (don't laugh, I've done a few on my Intense Spider 29er), you won't need bigger rotors.
I am really happy with the new Rebas, a lot of value for the money. As stiff as a Fox, just as plush, gets all the travel. I've had problems with both Fox F29's I've owned - neither got full travel until I realize that they come from the factory with too much oil. They both also developed wear on the sliders and in the bushings WAY too early (just over 12 months), so I'd have to say that their reliability is suspect.

Well, enjoy the new 29er, once you get used to the differences you'll really love it!
as to the forks, well I have been plagued with issues with my reba. sent back more than once for repairs, on the third time it self destructed I decided to try rebuilding myself. got over sized seals and went to town. Much better now but still not as nice as other shocks I Have ridden.
really want to try he Manitou's I had much better luck both with ride and lasting quality with them in the 26er forks.
right now JensonUSA.com has last yrs on wicked sale.
I have been hearing people talk about the Manitou Drake 29er a LOT lately. though it's a tad heavier many have stated that they like the ride so much better than any other shock that the weight becomes really nothing.
worth looking into

Niner's are designed around a 490 mm A-C fork, you'll want a 100mm sus. fork or your front end will feel tippy

I took the bait and scooped up a new 2008 Manitou 29er fork (120mm) for about $225. At that price, it was hard to pass up, even as just a spare fork.
