One reason I pushed for starting this 29er forum was because of the clunky interface at MTBR. Now that they have solved that problem by using Vbulletin, maybe we don't need to have a 29" forum. Thoughts?

I may not be qualified to answer this since I don't have a proper 29er - the stable is full, no more storage, but I ride my x-check fixed like it's an MTB (I digress).

I say keep it. MTBR is a good place in general but the DR forums have a different vibe. My 2 pesos.

yea, thanks, x, but i'm not seeing a hell of a lot of activity in this forum anyway, which looks , well, lame.

i liked the idea of having the forum. it just hasnt seemed to generate much interest. i wonder what kind of interest the other 29er forum you spoke of has gotten. at any rate it does seem to be the red headed step child of the dirtrag forums.

Hi maurice,

I actually like the old format of mtbr versus the new one, I can't get it to post photos.

I'm sorry people aren't posting here as well, but as long as they stick to subscribing and supporting your advertisers, I guess its all good...

This forum has been mighty slow lately, it wouldn't hurt my feelings to see it go. A 29er is just another bike, though it is a far superior bike, so I don't see the need for a wheel-size specific forum. I pretty much feel the same way about the singlespeed forum, and my main ride is a SS 29er. And you have a point with mtbr, it is the best place to go for all things 29er. I come here because DirtRag tends to focus on lifestyle instead of gear, so the members of this board tend to be more interested in the lifestyle. The gear is just a part of the lifestyle. I guess an arguement could be made that SSers have their own way about the cycling lifestyle, so the SS forum's existence could be justified.

Hey Vossman, did you get a new 29er? Looks Ti-reffic! I'm loving my Karate Monkey.

Oh, how sad. I'm still on the quest for a small 29'er, and have caught whiff of a scent . . . seems this forum may not be here to tell me how we little 'uns shouldn't be bothered.;)

The webmaster says it's not a good idea to let forums come and go. I'm glad that mtbr has gone to vBulletin, they've got all the hardcores, and were not here to compete with anyone, we just want to provide the forum for everyone's enjoyment.

I'd don't think losing this forum will be beneficail. Like dirtyj said, he didn't know about MTBR's 29" forum. Even if it is slow, I think leaving it up will do no harm. It may be slow, but it may pique the curiosity of an enlightened being. Get 'em started here, answer questions, then send them to the czars over at mtbr for the REAL nitty gritty.

well I say let it stay. Being new to the whole 29 game I came here to have my questions answered by those in the know. Even though it's not a very active forum it can be very helpful at times. I for one will be posting here often as soon as I get the loot for my vulture cycle 29'r SS.

Saweet! Nice color choice too!

Between you, me, and The Rose we've got 3 29er builds going on right now. I think we should each have our own thread. In fact, I've got one here somewhere. I need to update it.
