The Colorado Mountain Bike Association (COMBA, formerly TCSMBC) will be sponsoring a trail maintenance work day on June 3rd in the Denver area. The trail work will coincide with National Trails Day. Now in its 14th year, National Trails Day (NTD) has grown to inspire nearly a million trail enthusiasts to flock to their favorite trails to discover, learn about and celebrate trails while participating in trail work projects.
This is a single day trail maintenance activity planned by COMBA, Parker Elizabeth Riding Club (PERC) and Front Range Back Country Horsemen (FRBCH) in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service and sponsorship from REI and Dirt Rag Magazine. The maintenance targets for this Trail Day are on the north end of the eastern leg of the Indian Creek Trail just above it’s junction with the Roxborough Loop. COMBA will provide crew leaders and tools for the volunteers.
Access for volunteers will be from the Waterton Canyon trailhead parking lot, 11250 Waterton Rd., Littleton, CO. Volunteers are requested to meet at the trailhead at 8:00am then bike 6.5 miles from the trailhead to the Denver Water Department’s outbuildings and hike in from there. COMBA will provide food and drink in the morning and afternoon at the trailhead and supervision for bikes parked at the outbuildings. Volunteers should have hiking shoes/boots, sunglasses, bike helmet, work gloves, water and sunscreen and plan for a maximum of four to five hours of trail work.
