Fixin' to do my longest race to date. Can't seem to find a groove within the traditional shorter XC races so I'm trying my hand at this:

training started today. I got in 32 miles of similar terrain. it's a good thing. Training rides are much longer now, a strong sprinter I won't be but I bet I can finish it!

Damn there's my bunny again.

I don't like to be an ass because I would have gladly allowed the original's use free of charge, but If you're going to copy something, at least do it reverence and use a clean line. What is it about rabbit art and its ability to multiply without permission? (DR knows what I'm talking about ;) )

Plume: I know you are not the artist so please don't think I'm directing this at you. I'd do this race if I were in NC and I bet I'd arrange myself free admission, free shirt, and a bunch of other free stuff. :D

I think if you emailed Jeremy at the wncmountaingoatepics.com site he'd be appropriately apologetic and do whatever is right by you. I bet he has no idea where the bunny came from.

As for ORAMM, good fun. Here's my one and only picture from last year, coming down Heartbreak Ridge.

It's really no big deal since it's been used in this context and redrawn (not ctrl+C; ctrl+V). Plus, I allow myself one complaint a year which I just spent. That means I got 7 months of not letting anything get to me. :D

Happy times indeed.

So you're not going to mind if its the SSWC06 tattoo? ;)

Absolutely not. I'd be honored! You can't beat free airfare to Stockholm and I loves me some good meatballs. ;)

I love the drawing tho - that should be on a subscription card, don't you think so DirtRagArt?

It was used for a DR postcard about 4 years back. Scored me a nice saddle if I recall.

So, got any suggestions? How hard would you say the race is? Just seems like a good time to me. My goal is to finish.

Ride hard, don't crash, hope it doesn't rain. ;)

that is just ever so slightly ahead of my time with Dirt Rag, the first issue I ever saw was about 3 1/2 years ago when I moved back to town. oh well... nice going anyway!

i hear it is alot of climbing, something like 11K feet over ~65 miles. I know a guy who did it last year he said you are either going up or down. He was on a team and trained alot for the event and he is the type who went to race not just a personal challange. Check out www.bikepasa.com i think there are some others that have done it on the board.

cool, thanks for the link.

I guess the climbing is mostly gravel roads, and the descending is mostly on single track. sounds interesting.
