Just wanted to ask if you have a particular "must do" event that you attend every year?

I guess mine would have to be the Wilderness 101 (http://www.mtntouring.com/mountain/htm/home/page_home.htm) in Coburn, PA. This will be my fourth year in a row, and for me that's a major commitment. :D

Good organization, good riding and good people make this event tripleplusgood.

Mountain Bike Weekend was great. :)

Too bad 2005 was the final year.

Anybody have a recommendation for a laid back festival with good riding that could fill the void for a Jim Thorpe regular?

Offroad Assault on Mount Mitchell and the Shenandoah Mountain 100 are two events I plan to do every year until my legs give out on me. Both have great organization and beautiful trails.

Its great to recall what mountain biking was like before all the technology and marketing showed up.

Annual must-do? www.rocazur.com

Biggest bike festival, finest trails - and last year we had 150 double-fortes starting the famous RocTandem ... on serious singletrack, of course ...

For me, I'm feeling the need to keep riding the 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo in Tucson, AZ, in February. '06 was my first attempt at it, and I beat all but 1 goal (total number of laps). For those not "in the know", I ride endurance events to honor my 4-year-old daughter, who went to Heaven in February '03. I feel Pueblo will be a most excellent way to honor her all-too-brief life with us.

I wouldn't miss the Kansas DeathRide.

I've been doing B&G (Birmingham, AL) nearly every year since '97, and with my brother, nephew, & son since '98. It's turned into our annual "if all else fails, we're making it to this one" event. The race is great, but it's the family and the camping that make it a must-do.

I don't race in it, I'm one of the sane ones. I have been on the support crew of two-time defending champion Josh Tostado. Montezuma is a tiny little town outside of Keystone, Colorado. The race is a solo only 24hr multi loop event. Crossing the Continental Divide several times and summiting the 14,000+ft Grays Peak. Those guys and gals that race in it are NUTS!!!!!
