What's new? Planning a big uphill after the first beer, followed by a chainless race, he he...

Other n'at, still looking for a decent bar in Homestead since Chiodos got crushed.

is the route SS friendly or lots of flatland?

A less-hardcore onespeeder might not consider it friendly. I, for one, will have gears, there are steep hills...

Not what I'd call an easy ride...

Remember that wider tire won't fall through bridges as much as skinny ones...

hopefully my stellar drinking skills will compensate for my subpar riding

It is not looking good. Saturday is a hard day for me to get off from work. :( We'll see, I might be able to make it still. :)

A day well spent with 15-18 people ( losing and gaining peeps along the way!) Hit Thunderbirds (Pislner Urquel, EEB Blackstrap Stout and some IPA, cant remember right now) for a breakfast beer. Across the train bridge and up "Pig Hill" to the top. This year Mo thru in a chainless race down to The Bier Haus to drink the local IC. Up observatory hill to stop in an unnamed bar for cans of more of that aver loved IC! A quick jaunt around Riverview to a new bar called Young Bros for more...you guessed it IC! The first half of the day was a bit damp, but it keep the body temps down on the hills. The sun came out as we went for pizza in the North Side. The pies were fabulous but at this point I would have loved seasoned cardboard. The sun was making it soo steamy that camel back were not nec. on our way up Green leaf, just open your mouth and drink th air. To Redbeards for 60 mins Smile. We did a little loop in Grandview to the Southside to Dees and Sierra Nevadas yummm. Up to Squirrel hill via Panther hollow/ Sheneley to the Cage for the best deal (outside of free) on beer of the day $7.75 for a pitcher of 60 min! We picked up a few more rides and were off to Ds in Regent Square via Frick park. Our first and only injury of the day, a mean nasty little stump bit Franks leg. We were treated to two pitchers of Hopzilla from Jenna and Kevin who left before we made it there. We stayed a bit and drank Modite and Monty Pythons Holy Grail and their famous hot dogs. Lost a rider here. Now beer stops are closer together and the fun really started. Up untill now we were a quiet bunch focused on climbing hills and more hills. The group came out of their shells as we made our way to Adams house for doggy maddess, Hopticle Illusion and pinball. Kellys was our most expensive stop EEB Big Hop, no pitchers there just pints! We stayed in the back patio and left when we started breaking the place up. Lost one more rider here. Down the hill to create an enormous bike stack outside of the Church (I have no idea what we drank, bartenders choice) Back to Larrys town to the Remedy we had a sampling of Moudite, Greenflash and one other?) One last hill to Mos to drink Troegs and play pinball. I was ready to leave early (2pm) but the party continued after we left.....I have not heard if all survived...someone else will have to tell the rest of the tale. Here are some photos of the debotchery ...

Thanks for the great time everyone! As far as what happened after 2am, I recall a few more beers, some bagels and a handful of spicy chick peas. I awoke a few hours later under a pinball machine. Back on the bike at 7am. It feel so good. :)

Mo,

So how many riders in the history of forever have completed both your Dirtier Dozen and the other Dirty Dozen?

I've never ridden in either but from this vantage point in my comfy livingroom YOURS looks to be the true test of strength and endurance. Maybe next year.

There aint no replacin Chiodos. I'm still sad about that one.

Is it always right around early Sepember?

With Sunday's Dirtier Dozen under his belt, I know that that Keith Kraus, aka The Jesus, has completed both...

Myself and the other boys from Virginia want to thank everyone for an incredibly awesome ride -good beers, good people, and good times. We especially want to thank Maurice for leading the ride and for his gracious hospitality.

Hey, and if anyone finds there way through Harpers Ferry/Winchester/Strasburg/Front Royal VA (we're just a few miles from the C&O on the Allegheny Passage) drop me a line (Mo may still have my #). I'll treat you all to some local brew and sweet Shenandoah Singletrack on our version of the Dirtier Dozen -The Six-Pack Downhills @ eFurnace.

Cheers,

Tom, Jason, and Jimmy
