As the race director emeritus I need to inform riders of this year's Signal Peak Challenge (http://www.nmcycling.org/flyers/SignalPeak.pdf) even though I am 3000 miles from the action.

The race takes place on Sunday, August 20 with a pit roasted BBQ/Party (w/Fat Tire Ale) the night before on August 19 at the start/finish area.

This year's theme is "Broke Bike Mountain"...I don't have any idea what they are trying to pull off, but it should be weird as always.

The XC race course is world class starting at 7300 ft with a high elevation of just under 9000 ft for the Pro/Expert. The course uses the Continental Divide Trail system extensively. The course also uses two track jeep road, an old logging skid road, other single track trails, and USFS fire roads. Definately one of the best XC races in North America.
