Where are the pretzel moneys?
OK Kids…the time for an update has come. The snow has come once again here in the East after a week of sweet riding on dry trails. Fear not, spring will be coming soon enough. The opening of our shop has come and now I will be able to put more effort into the event. The trails have been selected and the format chosen---STAGE RACE! Multiple stages with points awarded to top finishers…the top 10 advance to the last stage for all the glory, the rest of us get to watch and enjoy the spectacle…
As for prizes and where your hard earned $10 bucks goes??? First- the food, beer, pavilion rental, and other expenses will be covered. Second- the remaining moneys shall be presented to IMBA in the name of Single Speed riders attending the ECNASSCof theU. These people have been working for mountain bikers and deserve support, so prizes will be few and we’ll see what manufacturers donate. WARNING---do not come for prizes…
That being said….First prize will be my piece of crap Hyundai Excel…I will have it running…but it is in poor shape. If you don’t want this thing- don’t win. No plates, no insurance, slipping clutch…and it smells like my dog.
The hotel situation is good and the holidays see this town clear out. http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?srch=105&FORM=AS5&q=state+college+pa
This is what I found; it should be no problem…if it is, let me know. Floor space will also be available for those of us financially challenged…
Details that are the same:
May 24th register at Mt Nittany Wheelworks (where I work)
106 Village Drive State College, PA
814-235-6220
www.mtnittanywheelworks.com
8:00 meet at Bar TBA for night out…
May 25th 10:00am start time Location TBA
3:00pm Food and Drink (mmmm…drink)
8:00pm Award Ceremony- location TBA
Rest of night---enjoy company of friends and party
The trails are rocky and challenging to say the least. Running a “lighter” gear is advisable. There will be at least one climbing stage with 1000ft+…at least one descending stage…plenty of “Le Mans” starts…refreshment wagons…and fun. The “Stage Race” style will allow everyone to witness the starts of each and will keep the festive atmosphere alive. Any questions can be emailed to me at trackskid@earthlink.net
I look forward to seeing everyone in MAY…Eric.
PS
Any manufacturers receiving this wishing to donate goods to event contact me ASAP…thanks
