I am not so lucky to have any single track on the way to work anymore, and I have to ride on a paved path. I used to think that leaving early in the evening and riding with sunlight was a good idea. Now I know that riding at night with a bright light is much more fun. There are less joggers, walkers, and strollers. Everyone has a right to use the same path, but someone should give them all a course in ettiquet, or atleast teach me how to spell. I love to rant, but come on this one is just too easy. I say "On your left" no matter who I pass, and I do not pass on blind turns or bridges. I try and say hello in addition to everyone I pass. My buddy and I make a game of saying something friendly and different to every person we pass. The worst violators are other cyclist tho. I never hear them say "On your Left". And if the guy who passes me on the way in reads this I hope you learned your lesson. Several times another commuter/racer boy passed me on a hill on my way to work. Roadies know the technique of sucking wheels, and passing. Well it is nice to let a guy know your going to do this. Just ask. The last time I saw this drafting punk he jumped on my rear wheel at the start of a long hill. I waited till half-way up to sneeze. When I sneeze there is lots of spit, snot, and my bike jerks violently to the left. All I could hear was him yelp and I dropped him. Not always a good idea, but neither is sucking the wheel of a guy you don't know, and not letting him know your there.
