The race will be broadcast on ESPN2 and ABC in October (in HD).

TV update:

ESPN2 will resurrect off-network reality-competition Primal Quest as part of a four-part series set to air on consecutive days beginning Oct. 9.

The one-hour finale for the series -- in which amateur athletes compete in a race replete with grueling athletic challenges -- will air on ABC Oct. 14, according to officials.

Primal Quest aired on broadcast network CBS and cable network OLN from 2002-04.
