im interested in buying a 2001 model used for $850.its got front an back fender eyelits which are essencial to me.

does anyone do any hardcore commuting in one of these?

the top tube is real short at 55cm,im used to 58 but the geometry seems to feel ok if i get a slightly higher stem for it.

the 2001 one model comes with a Race Face crank (36/48) and any thoughts on that would be cool too.

Thanx,

I love Race Face chain rings and cranks. I'm fat (205-215) and flex the hell out of Shimano cranks I've ridden. The rings shift awesome as well.

ok so i bought this thing yesterday.i took it home and spent all night modifying it to suite my comfort zone.it came with a stubby little Deda no-rize stem and that had to go for a longer more uppity one.

i thought the fork would be aluminum with a pressed in steel steer tube but its a aluminum steer tube too  it may be a real eyeball rataller...

some day i might try to get a steel fork from a Kona Jake the Snake to put on it.

the Race Face crank is super beefy and im glad it came in 170mm's.175mm is to long for me and doesnt spin as well.i'll have to get a grany gear for it too.

time to go put on the fenders.

P.S.

ever notice how bikes gain weight after you buy them? :D

i ended up taking all the parts off the Bianchi and putting them on olive green 2001 Surly cross check.

im much happier now, the Bianchi had bad geometry,i dont like attack mode angles.
