OK, my wife is going to NYC in March for her school's Spring Break. I have the go-ahead to go on a mtn bike get-away. So, my question is:

I live in St. Louis, MO and will be driving. Was thinking about North Georgia?? Any other ideas? I would like to keep it within 500 miles of so of STL. Thanks.

Pisgah national forest is about the same distance. If you're going to drive that far, NC will make it worth your while.

Rev, I really enjoyed the Pisgah/Dupont area and would love to go back. I have also been to Arkansas and loved Womble and the other great near Mena. I would go to whichever is closest so you can ride more and drive less.
