I start my day off each day by getting really pissed by the incessant banter between the idiots on Madison, WI's channel 15 as they complain about the fluff they have to present as news and yet they cycle through it every ten minutes. I am just trying to catch the weather.

Why is it news? Because it isn't news and this concepts appears to be an opiate to the masses. There are apparently hordes of idiots out there who care more about Britney's shaved head and yoo-hoo than about corruption in government or unjust wars (all over the place, not just Iraq.)

I work with teachers who spend more time reading People magazine than they do their students essays. We are becoming idiots. It is simpler for the conservative owned and liberally run media to keep us dumbed down than to educate us. Look what passes for educational programming on your local broadcast television channels.

The dumber the news the less likely we are to pay attention to anything.
