View Full Version : Hartwood 3 hour Tour
Just quick shout out to Guerrero, Lee, and the rest of those on the Hartwood 3 Hour Tour ride on Sunday. I never knew losing people, eating mud(more than usual), and broken components could be so much fun. Thanks.

We had mud, we had blood, we had walking... I've heard those are the ingredients for a good ride and considering the quantities, I would say we had a great ride. Thanks to Max, Matt, Hubert (it was cool to have a bona-fide Canadian to add international flavor), Lee, Mr. Burns, Hammer (with Malice, of course), and Megan for showing up... I wish I had snapped a post-ride photo of Megan's numerous injuries-she's going to be a total bad ass by the end of the summer.
You guys should have come in last night. Guerrero, Browne, Hammer, and Shannon made it. I'm glad Jeff wasn't driving. Three hours of good riding, and then beer at 8%, potential recipe for becoming a fabulous disaster. I'm trying to get an even smaller crew for this Saturday if you're up for it. I know it all depends on rims and hubs holding up or being replaced. I need a few more cracks at that place! Thanks.

Damn... as Jeff and I were pulling out of the DR driveway, I just kept thinking how much of a puss I felt like. It's so intimidating to know that I haven't been seriously riding in so long, but then to see everyone fresh off a sweet ride- damn the jealousy was flowing faster than the beer last night.
I guess I learned something-- heal fast, don't get hurt and ride more!
Too bad I'll be in Asheville this weekend, otherwise I'd be in on the ride. Oh wait, I'll be in Asheville. I'll bring back some dirt for yinz to gnaw on!

I did not realize that you were injured, here's to a rapid recovery!
BECAUSE...
This was said yesterday in response to someone not trying something because they thought they might get hurt.
" If you don't think you can land it then don't try, its OK because after all, you can't ride a bike with a broken leg!":p

Yep, true dat! Though it's often said that "if you ain't crashing, you ain't trying hard enough!"
A few cliches courtesy of an Armed Forces advertisement and another one from my rugby days:
The ad: "Pain is just weakness leaving your
body."
My Rugby Coach: "That which does not kill us
only makes us stronger."
Me: "To understand man is to eat a tomato
grown on a fire escape." -and what
does that mean?-I'm
*****d if I know.
Browne, I too hope you feal better, and enjoy Asheville. When are you taking off?
