This might have been covered in the past, but my karate monkey is stored in a cold garage in the off season. Will this do anything to my marta hydro brakes? My wife will only let me keep 4 bikes in the house. (I'm lucky, really). Not wondering about cold weather performance, but the cold storage factor. I live in southwest Ohio, so don't think I am in Antarctica or something. Garage is much like yours, cement floor, blah blah blah. Thanks!

My Titus with Marta SL's lives in the garage. When I'm lucky it gets to go out in the winter and works just fine right away. Don't see how cold would bother the system, unless the bike gets put away sopping wet. Then again, mine's been put away caked in snow and works fine the next week.

As long as you don't reach the temperature where any of the rubber piston seals shrink to the point where they leak or let air into the system it should be fine.
Not sure how cold that would have to be, but I've ridden my bike with Marta's as low as -5C with no problems in performance or maintenance.
Although I did have to bleed the front brake for the first time ever a couple of weeks after the last ride in the cold and snow.

I live in antarctica...or close enough. It's fine in the winter, both storage and use. They'll be a little stiff under about -20C depending on whats in them, but they ride ok. Storage is definitely not a problem.

Mineral oil isn't really hydroscopic so aside from viscosity change there should be no effect.
