So I've looked all around, emailed various people, and checked all the mags. Am I an idiot? Can people sense that I am a poser? Is this a CA only thing? I wish I could figure this out but I frustrated and don' t have the computer access to sit here for hours and search. So I'm putting it out to you forum members: where the hell do I find info on the sswc? Some places I've checked:mtbr, surly bikes singlespeed.net, bikemag, mountainbike.com, the outcast, spotbrand(site does not work on my computer), 32:16, plus a bunch of search engines. I also emailed someone who is rumered to be involved and I received no reply. I not bitching just trying to get some info together so I can buy a plane ticket.
What I do know: October 12, Downieville CA, long(40 miles), lots o' climbing(8000 feet). So you computer owners out there go nuts. I expect a report on my desk monday 9:00am. Thanks

I already recieved an email back. In a week or so the poop should be up on the web site for Yuba City Adventures. I don't have a url. I'll try digging one up. Leapfrog I read your post on the bike shop. If it gets off the ground and you need an experienced mechanic, ss rider/ commuter/college drop out to make coffee around the shop drop me a line.

Info has been somewhat vague. Mike Ferrantino at Bike Magazine posted on their forum (www.bikemag.com) that he was putting on the SSWC 2002. I obtained Dates, distance, location, etc. from his post over there. That was several months ago. He posts on that board pretty regularly, so you could try posting the question over there. You might also try to email Outcast Mag in the UK, as they put on last year's event.

I'm hoping to make it out for the pain and suffering.

P.S. Not trying to drive traffic to the other board, just trying to pass along info.

Yes very mysterious. mike ferrentino and steve smith are the instigators. From what I've heard, it's Downieville, CA on Oct 12th. i hear there will be lots of climbing.

I think when the info goes up, it will be on www.yubaexpeditions.com. There is a local knowledge page there but I can't get any links to work. Mike Ferrentino wrote the intro to this section.

next ta nuthin'! I've watched people clamoring for info about this silly gathering for nearly a year. The amount of info I've known hasn't hanged for about that same amount of time. I'll have to keep an eye on the Yuba website.
