Found this on FGG today.

All you Ontarians better write to this guy!

"I can't support bike lanes. Roads are built for buses, cars, and trucks. My heart bleeds when someone gets killed, but it's their own fault at the end of the day."
Rob Ford - Toronto City Councillor councillor_ford@toronto.ca

It's also cropped up in the Politics thread here and on the Eastern Canada thread on MTBR. There's nothing quite as effective as being a complete dolt if you want attention, and this guy seems to have that action covered with stupid to spare.

this clown got pretty well eviscerated on other forums, and has apologized publicly for this verbal vomit. it's just the usual "one accusation is worth 1000 denials", or something like that. no more worries about him.

The quote showed up in today's Toronto Star today,in a feature length column on bike trails and commuting, so hopefully some more people will send this guy a little hate mail. The article said that Toronto is finally looking to get its sh*t together, and start connecting the fragments of trail together, as opposed to the present mish-mash of tiny trails separated by areas that are decidedly bike-unfriendly.
