Whatever floats your boat. Really, it doesn't matter.

If you own one of each you don't have to make a choice. Blonde, brunette, redhead.... why not have a bike harem? You don't have to be a polygamist to own multiple bikes, you only have to follow the equation B=N+1.

I have two SS's. One 26 and one 29. I rode the 29er yesterday, and the 26 today. I like both of them better. Better than my geared bikes. Honestly, it doesn't matter either way, I just love singlespeeding.

I like my rigid SS 29'er better than I've liked each of 3 other S 26's, though the 29'er is steel, which may make up a large portion of the love.

If you are taller, get a 29'er for sure.

YOU want a 29.
then you NEED to tell the world how the 29 is betterer then anything else in the world. you should also obsess continuously about how 29ers are going to drive the industry, save cycling and cure cancer.

lets not forget stats, figures and studies.

my personal experience (on my local trails with my talent set and my technique) heavily favours a ss29, of course your actual results may vary.
the momentum gained and trail smoothing characteristics with the 29 outweigh any of the drawbacks. the cons are even simpleerer: the 29er zelot fun police mf's...i swear there are days i deny having big wheels out of embarrassment.

If you have trouble making up your mind, and believe that you will always be thinking of the 29er if you get a 26er, and vice versa, perhaps you should consider a 96er. SS, of course.

I dig my dark green SS Karate Monkey as much as my lime green 1x1. That said the darker green seems to be a disadvantage during hunting season so I tend to ride the lime green bike in the Fall and Winter. However at those parks where there is no hunting allowed I'm on the dark green SS. It's faster at those "hunter free" parks while the lime green bike can definitely outrun hunter's bullets faster. So it really comes down to whether or not I feel like being mistaken for a deer or a Kawasaki (see pic). Was this helpful ? :D
