I haven't lived in the Springs in a long, long, long time, but here are some opinions, backed up by my dad, who still lives (and rides) there:

Colorado Cyclist--best option for high-end parts on the cheap (retail store is pretty sweet).

Pro-Cycling--an LBS that spun-off from angry 'cyclist employees. Great service, good stock, but located all of the way up in Jesus land (aka the north end of the springs).

Colorado Springs Bike Shop--downtown location, nice peeps, great service. Lots of bikes, not a huge assortment of aftermarket (see "colorado cyclist").

Criterium Bike Shop--(editorializing here): Steer clear. Reputation for putting people on WAY more bike than they need (full XTR for bike paths, anyone?!?!). Generally condescending, everything is retail +10%, and they nail you for a lot on labor (how do you think they pay for that sweet real-estate right off of 25?). One good thing: great assortment of clothing (at retail plus 10).

Hope this helps.

Those are some good options... I work at Colorado springs bike shop... It's a more family oriented (comfort bikes) shop in (or near) Old Colorado City.

Old Town Bike shop is another good one... and so is the Bicycle Experience (I help out there sometimes too)... both on Tejon st. (spelling?)

There is also bicycle village... dont know much on this shop...

I've been in Colorado Springs for 4 weeks now... I'm just out here for the summer riding as much as I can.
