I've been running lately. Not by choice, but because I slipped my silly ass off of a footbridge at Oak Mountain the Friday evening before Bump and Grind, and knocked my left shoulder out of joint again. But I digress. Things are much better now (thank you), not enough to get back on the bike, but good enough to run without having that awful grinding sensation in my shoulder. But it's hot and muggy as four hells alongside the Gulf, and my earbuds quickly get sweat-logged, and quit working until I rinse and air dry them (i.e., for the next day).

So on to the question: anybody got any recomendations for sweat-resistant earbuds or headphones for this kind of running in muggy heat?

Yeah, I googled around for "sweat earbud" and such, but all of the advertising was more about the earbuds' longevity in the presence of sweat, not their continuing function during a given run.

BTW, the ones I'm using are Sonys with the little over-the-ear hanger hoops, and they're a lot better in this sweatty respect than the original Apples.

Any recomendations will be much appreciated.

Found some Sony MDR-J11G "Water Resistant, Sports" earbuds for ~$20 at a nearby outdoor store. So far, they're working on these sweaty night runs.

Yeah, the heat and humidity are a bitch, but running along the Mississippi Sound at night during shrimp season is really pretty. There's always a line of shrimp boats looking like a string of stars out on the horizon, and kids shooting fireworks on the beach. Lightning is frequently popping up over the pine woods 20 miles to the north, silently lighting up the sky. Having a little music to go along with the view makes it worth the sweat and bugs.

That sounds nice. I'm off for a foggy hourlong trail run right now. :D
