Who caught that NPR report on the superhit of their public transportation inventiion? It apparently involves a swipe card, a million bicycles and bike vending machines. Swipe your card, the first half hour is free, drop the bike at the next vending station and away ya go! I guess the peds were a little pissed off due to the huge volume of new bikers using up the sidewalk space... Now, why won't that catch on here in the back-asswards states? or will it?

All things considered, I do TRY and listen to NPR here and there...for comic relief. :D

Because 'Mericans are fat, lazy, and feel it's their God-given rite to throw enough money at a problem to make it less inconvenient. I see this all the time delivering propane. Hand someone a bill for 350 gallons of fuel for the last 6 weeks consumption while the steam billows out of their open door. Then listen to them bitch about how much it's costing them to maintain that 72 degree temperature in February...
To further illustrate: We have a guy at work that lives a couple of hundred yards down the road from the shop. He drives his F-250 to work all year. He used to drive his truck to a different job when that was across the road, a distance of 50 yards!
Troubling

imagine my surprizze when i realized this was barcelona BIKING not BIKINI...brutal!
you best thank me for this image, this thread is about to be uprooted and dumped in the pit of politics...
i saw an article in momentum mag about bike lockers in BC...large enough to roll the whole dern thing in at various transit stations.
maybe this is a better alternative for this here normerica in the short term. make it easy (easier) for those that WANT to ride...work on the 'rest' after the infrastructure and mentality changes a bit more.

Everyone knows that all media outlets are ran by liberals. It's true, I read it in "The No Spin Zone," so it must be true, after all it's a book.
