OK, so I am returning to higher learning after about 17 years. Had my transfer student orientation today. I never thought as myself as old until today. Very few older students in the orientation. I think the average age was about 20. Definitely felt like a fish out of water.

Had to take a math placement exam. What a joke. I scored a 1 out of possible 5. :o Then took a Spanish placement exam. Now understand, I took spanish in high school, over 20 years ago. Dont remember much. Get that score tom. So along with remedial math, I probably get to take remedial spanish as well.:o Anyway, thought I would share my general feeling of inadequacy.:)

Congrats!
You're going to do great. Relax and enjoy it.

My father went to college at the age of 45. He pulled straight A's while carring 18 hrs. His excuse was that he didn't need to go out and drink beer and chase girls, like all the youngsters. He had plenty of time to study. :D
Personally I don't think there's any excuse for that kind of behavior, from a freshman.

The older you get, the more you appreciate and enjoy it. You'll be fine--just relax, trust yourself, and put in the work.

Good for you! My mother went to college at 44 after my father died. I did not truly appreciate what she did until I was 36 and had two kids. You da man!!! I hope you win the raffle in Issue No. 129!
