So who's running the top cap? I heard you got one on the mtbr/ss board, and the stuff section was the first place I turned when I got 101. I was anxious to read your review, but since there wasn't one I've taken the liberty:

Top caps don't do much. They, along with the star nut and a bolt running between them, let you put tension on the headset until its just right, but then the stem takes over fork retention duties and the top cap just sits there, functional dead weight. But function isn't everything, and the top cap is there. Right there. In your face there. You're grinding up yet another climb, 20 miles into a 30 mile day and gasping for just a little more oxygen to transfuse your screaming legs. You look down and there it is: "SINGLE SPEED One is all you need." And it is and you know it. So you dig a little deeper, and wow the geared unfortunates yet again. $5. Worth its weight in gold.

Incidentally, it's on my GT and lookin' good.

I heard I made it in there - Brad from Dirt Rag (at the 24 hours of Snowshoe) teased me and I only saw a glance at the page. I had no idea where it would end up - but it was just my letter and a picture of a cap I sent them. But I made it! Great review Wooglin!

I do have more on order so by the end of the month I'll have more.

I didn't know who to send it to at Dirt Rag so I just addressed it to Dirt Rag - so you got it huh??? Brad has one now too.... he's supposed to email me back about a Singlespeed hat I had made too - he wanted the extra one, but I haven't heard from him yet?

My heterosexual lifemate, Cat, has the 'my other bike is a singlespeed' caps on her singlespeeds, and I'm rock'n the 'one is all you need' cap on my SS (in pimp'n gold no less!). They certainly add a nice finish detail & they make me smile. :D Thanks for having those made Fast Freddy.
