how not to get my bike stolen

hey, i just bought a brand spankin' new bike today. and i was wondering other than double locking it, what ways are there for me to not have my bike stolen?

never leave it locked up overnight..always bring it inside where you live.

alwyas lock it up where you can see it or where there is high people traffic.

make it extremely ugly!

ditch all quick release parts, name brand labels, and get a good lock, never let there be too much slack on the cable.

Remove all the stickers that aren't political, the big and small chain rings, all your cogs but the 16, shifters, the freewheel and the brakes. Then give it electrical tape treatment from stem to stays.

If it's a really nice ride, leave it home, ather than that, lock it up where it is close to where you work, or if you can, take it inside where you work.

I have one of those bad mofo new york locks, and it's great when my bike is all locked up but when i'm going back and forth that thing is heavy as a boat anchor. So when I go to work I just put my bike in a back room or on the weekend I stick it in the empty cubical next to mine.

i also have one too! it foiled would be thieves (crack heads) just last week. i left a specialized hard rock and a amf voyager locked over night on the side of my house cuz i was drunk and lazy, anyway i woke up the next morning to find a pole in the little u lock and both bikes bent to hell. this lunatic was using my bikes as leverage to beat my lock. i also found an empty purse at the scene of the crime.

Take the seat off.... Don't always lock it up in the same place.
