I am a larger rider at 6'3" and 210 lbs. I have been riding for nearly 20 years, although very little the last 4. I am looking to upgrade from my Jamis Dakar Pro that I bought 9 years ago. I am an advanced rider hitting all the Phoenix trails (rocky loose climbs, rocky loose down hills, lots of rock period!). I have kinda narrowed down my search to the Yeti 575, Kona Dawg and the Santa Cruz Nomad. Anyone have a strong input on which of the 3 would suit me best?
Thanks!
I'm not into full suspension bikes, but Maurice's review of the Nomad, coupled with the fact that he's bigger'n you and seems to really like that bike, would suggest that's the one fer you.
Have you thought about driving over to Titus, the moto-lite or El Guapo may work also.

Mo is a fat piece of shit, as are you and I. If he likes it, I bet you would to. Fukk, I might even like it if I wanted squish.

Go back and read my post again. Ask a grownup to help if you need to. I included myself in that category as well. Somehow, "fat piece of shit" just seems less offensive to me than "Clydesdale", which makes me think of them horses what pulls the beer wagon, which makes me think of Crudwieser, which always makes me throw up in my mouth a little.

David, read your own fvckin' post again. Just because you included yourself in there does not mean that you didn't call the new kid a fat piece of shit.

This about sums you up.

Is that a jackass? A braying jackass?
If it's a horse, you've got the wrong end. :D

I think he was actually referring to Maurice as a fat piece of shit, not the new guy. Which is a nice way to treat your host:confused:
And for my $.02 the Nomad looks like a damn sweet ride. I'm 6'3" and 225 lb and I'll be looking for something stout if I ever go full sus.

Sheesh, can we stay on target for once without getting into a flame? But alow me to correct the sumbitch that called me a fat piece of shit. It's July, and in July I am not a fat piece of shit. In July I'm a, skinny, yea, thin. You'll have to wait til February to call me a fat piece of shit.
That said, you should really try and get some test rides on some bikes. I'd have no problem recomending the Nomad, it's a hot bike, and Kona's are solid and built to last. Haven't ridded n the Yeti. Best to ride 'em and decide. With Titus in your hood, you aughta head over there for a demo fer sure.

That's be me. Didn't mean nothin' by it, Mo. Sometimes I forget I ain't talkin' to a bunch of construction workers; us being mostly a bunch of foul-mouthed f*ckers that pretty much shoot from the hip.
Beer?

Thanks bud. That's friggin' craked me up! I did say 6'3" before the 210lbs correct? No offense taken. However, as a boxer, trail runner, hiker, mountain biker, etc. I am at a very low body fat %. I'd drop a pic but I am humble and don't want you getting all tingly.

Thanks. I have heard good things about Titus. Used to ride with the welder back in the early 90's. He lived right at the base of South Mountain. National Trail is the bomb but way tough on the equip. and you, if you have a get off.
