Here's mine. It's winter here more than not (when photo was taken), hence the studs. Now it's outfitted with regular X tires.

What's up Dan? How have the DH bikes been treating you?
Here is my old commuter. I recently picked up a Cannondale cyclocross disc, I love disc brakes.

Here's a pic of the summer commuter, the pink bike -mind you it's not really pink, is "raspberry metalic"- I got the frame through freecycle and built it using parts I had lying around or got for free. I would like to fix it, but I haven't got to it yet. In the winter I use the 1x1 with studs -so I can have disc brakes.

...here she is as she sits,w/ the skinny tires.we were s'posed to go on a dark:30 nite group ride tonite, but the dude that was loanin me lights never showed:(,so i rode to the track, met the wife and kids there (she brought the kid's bikes in the car),and rode a coupla hours w/ them...was a better "group ride" anyways:D.
when the fedex gets here, she'll have racks and trunks, and lights.i'll update then.
ps:if ya can't tell from the pic,haven't stuck the 16t back on yet...well heck,i'd just installed that 22t anyways:p
nice rides,guys,keep em comin!:)

this is a lil off subject,but...
man,it pee-poured rain most of today.at least by the time i clocked out,it was a steady drizzle...which got me to thinkin bout fenders.my monocog doesn't have rack/fender mounts (hence the reason i ordered a seatpost rack).anybody know of any decent fenders that'll work w/out mounts?

Planet Bike makes some good ones. They clamp onto the stays and fork legs. But all you really need are some zip ties. They'll hold your fenders on just fine.

No it's not. Fenders are not an accessory on a commuter. They are an absolute necessity.

cool.we're a little hurtin for rain this summer,so thas sumthin i hadn't givin much thought to,till the other day...and from the sounds comin from the sky rite now, prolly gunna get wet in the mornin (BIG boomin thunder this past hour).
where can one buy Planet Bike gear online?
i'm really proud of meself, todays the 13th day strait i've ridden (every day to work + 8-10 extra miles in the eves, and in the woods on the weekends)...thas one of the top 3 reasons i just hated long haul.1)missed the kids,2)missed mama, and 3)didn't get to ride enuff.man, wish i'd been home daily before we bought this place, the town we moved back from was taylor made for car lite living, but i certainly don't miss the noise all nite (all we hear here are the sounds of nature:D).
try www.planetbike.com. The QBP book has them and some from SKS that are nice also, your LBS should be able to help.

Here is my daily commuter. I was recently transfered to my town. Giving up my 64mile (one way)commute to Northern Virginia approx-1hr 45min by car. To a 1 1/2 mile bike commute door to door approx-5mins. Now I could ride home for lunch!

i'll check the websites for em,the last coupla years or so,it's been more of a hassle to get things (not all things, jus the ones under several hundred $;)) from my LBS.i've also noticed that since i don't (can't :(afford to) spend the thousands per year i used to,i don't get the same treatment...i guess i'm no longer one of his "favorites"

...64mile (one way)commute...
:eek::eek:whoa!!!i realise that may not be killer milage to some, but not having been home to ride enuff to really get in that kinda shape till this year, that seems like a lot ta me!you have my aww struck respect.
tomorrow i'm gunna try my first 50 miler...wish me luck w/ traffic.the last coupla few weeks,i been averagin 45-68 miles w/out a strain, and today i rested as far as ridin goes, only commuted the 3-4 miles to work-i hadda bring my pic-up home,i leave it there mondays, and sunday,i'll only ride 2-4 miles at the high school track w/ the kids,so i'm gunna try:)

lol!!!don't feel too awful bad...i set out on my 1st 50 miler today, and fell a lil short.i did get 43 in,tho,so i don't feel too bad about it,cause it was hot (near 100),i was on my monocog (SS,duh:p),and i guess i really coulda picked a flatter rte;).
hey,but the cool thing bout that misunderstood milage is that i beleived ya,dude.i didn't figure anyone could do that daily and be able to work when they got there, but i figured 1 way a coupla times per week.i wish my commute was a mile or 2 longer, but it's all good,i ad a few miles after work on the way home.:)

that's a sweet ride,dude...i like the 9-2-5er's.for the $,they make a lotta sense.i wouldn't mind parkin one beside my rides,and really wanted one there for a while,but now i done changed my mind (on what i want next,not about the 9-2-5:rolleyes:) and want a 29er...or maybe a cross bike...or maybe a roadie...or maybe...
anyways, here's the update on mine w/ the stuff i'd ordered from nashbar installed, from my "didn't quite make the 50 miles i was aimin for"-43 mile ride today.

LHT2, what gearing are you running on that for commuting and 50 mile rides? Fixed or free? Also, are you telling me there are no eyelets to mount a rear rack!
Cool bike :D

thanx!it's one of my 2 all time favorites (that i've owned).
free,and i meant to put the 16t back on,but after lookin,i inadvertantly grabbed the 18t,so i'm runnin 32x18,and i didn't quite hit the 50 miles i was aimin for,but i got 43 outta it before i ran outta legs/lungs(well,it was a rather hilly rte:o).i've ridden farther than 50 in a day,but not strait thru.and nope,no rack eyelets...maybe the newer m'cogs have em,but this one doesn't (unless i'm blind/stupid:p,i've been accused of both-lol).
i guess i'm outta the market for that m'cog 29er for a while, the kitchen stove went this weekend, and the $ i was settin back for the new bike went for a new one-dang (doesn't seem strong enuff of a word) i miss truckin $ sometimes!

Heck ya! But I do have to say the Endormorphs are not the best commute tires. I am on my third set since Jan 06, and not from flats or cuts, but from them turning into Slicks!

see, if i had a pugsley to commute on i'd have so many tickets,it'd cost way more than gas, for running everything i could find between my house and work over. ive rode them, and thats what i did for half and hour with the biggest smile ever! just monster truck it.

"manage attachments" button. Go from there. One can browse your own hard-drive for saved files, or copy/paste a URL and upload.
Here is my commuter, it's been posted before, but not for quite a while and it had MTB bars on it then. I put the drops back on for a 50mile/day tour of the Black Hills region and will not likely go back to the risers.

Yeah. I'm actually considering putting drops of some variety on the 925. One hand position for anything more than an hour of saddle time sucks it.
Longhaul, it wasn't posted on this thread, but on the commuting forum at least a year ago, so you didn't miss it.
I put the risers on it before I even took it home. It was a great commuting set up, tons of control on a fast chassis, I loved it. But as RandomV mentioned having hand position options is a good thing! I thought I needed a more upright position for carrying loads in the Mbag but I've found it's not that big a deal so I'll stay with the drops.
Great bike!!
