I'm itching to either buy, or have built a quality dedicated SS frame in the hopefully not so distant future. Something with high end tubing and such. I know a couple places for the custom route, but are there any high end factory frames out there?

Not exactly high end or custom, but nice nonetheless.

Forgot to mention, I am only shopping for frames of the magnetic variety.

You're missing a good bet not trying a Scandium frame, they ride like steel and weigh like aluminium.

But if you need more iron in your diet, that leaves the DeKerf and the Spot high on the list.

or the On One 853 (http://www.on-one.co.uk/page213.html)

or Thylacine Cycles (http://www.thylacinecycles.com/frame.php?model=aretesl&colour=gold). A steel frame that only weighs 1538gms (3.4 pounds) (http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=271261&highlight=steel)

Why not build your own Myron? It's not that difficult to build a basic frame with a home-made jig.The 5" travel squish and my SS were built in my garage.

I found this one (http://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=11387&category=2755) ranging from $399 to about $700 online. I think it was made of reynolds 631, whatever that is. Some of the higher end frames(like gunnar) seem to approach the cost of a true custom build. Then I find things like this too. (http://cgi.ebay.com/2006-JAMIS-DRAGON-TEAM-REYNOLDS-853-STEEL-FRAME-NEW_W0QQitemZ220140077148QQihZ012QQcateg oryZ98083QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZVi ewItem) If I have to approach the $1k mark, I will likely go custom build.

It may come down to that. A few months ago I had planned on it, but things changed, and now I have far less time than before.

Delivery time might be a bit longer, but this could be one sweet frame (http://www.bikeschool.com/frame.htm)

The UBI class looks good, but this one looks a little more one on one.

High end is what you asked for..

Ask and you shall receive! I know Rob Pennell can
help you out for the same money. :p:D

Rob may get the nod after all, I was hoping for something unique(er), I know a guy that has, not one, but two of those things, maybe more...

I can't believe no one has mentioned Indy Fab! If I had the money, that's what I'd have.

Badgers are just coming out of the woodwork these days...my garage is overflowing with them.

My vote is for, of course, a Badger.

But after seeing your SS conversion of that old Mesa I think you might have fun taking a stab at going DIY.

For a production aluminum frame I don't think you can go much higher.

Doesn't carry the cool factor, if that's what you mean. I'd still consider it a high end bike though...

We sell Spot through the shop and they are Gorgeuos. We are also looking to pick up Indy Fab, but i believe they are custom only...
Plus, Spot is building them here in Colorado, so i gotta love 'em.

Doesn't Vicious have production frames--errr non custom?
Just don't get the Spiderman paint scheme, it's played. Instead go with a question mark paint scheme, ala that guy who sells the book about all the secret goverment programs. I'm sure you've heard him scream at you via TV if you have ever been up past 11:00PM.
