I had a chance to watch the IMAX film "Wired to Win" this afternoon at the Carnegie Science Center. It was an amazing way to spend an hour in a darkened theater. I highly recommend it. Check it out now before its gone.

I saw that last year in Denver. The riding footage was incredible on that big screen, especially the twisty downhill. Next best thing to actually being in the TdF, I suppose. And the science behind it was cool too. I enjoyed cruising along the synapses in the brain. Second your recommendation.

I saw it last fall and though the cinematography was awesome (IMAX afterall) I found the CG stuff pretty lame. Who needs special effects when you've got the Alps, the Pyrannes and Paris?

Probably would've been even better with the original idea for the production: a film about Tyler Hamilton. :o

The outtakes are on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laPCkx9Fx5c
Now that's awesome! :D

:) Great visually.

 Storyline lacking (perhaps due to switching horses mid-stream).

 Scientifically shallow. Teased us with the "brain wiring" stuff, but never presented enough science for my tastes.

If you're into some visually appealing mental floss, go for it. Just don't expect enlightenment.

No doubt the story line was kind of weak but I was just so impressed by the mountains and the footage.

So what is the real story here? Tyler Hamilton was supposed to be the star but then the world discovered his rather ghoulish blood doping habit? Now this was from the 2003 TdF. How long has this been out? K-Man, we are in the same market and we probably saw it at the same theater. This just opened here in mid July. Now was it also playing last July as well?

I saw it this year at the Carnegie Science Center, same as you, don't know how long it's been out though.
