Pisgah Productions is proud to announce the third annual DOUBLE DARE. On Sept. 29-30, 2007 teams of two riders will race to reach UP TO 10 CHECKPOINTS, two days in a row. Start/Finish will be at White Pines group campground in Pisgah Forest, NC. Race starts at Noon on Saturday and the first cutoff is Midnight. Race resumes at 6AM Sunday with 10 brand new checkpoints and the final cutoff is 6PM. To finish all you need to do is get to the each day's mandatory CP and back to the start/finish before the cutoffs. Teams shooting for all 10 CPs should expect about 70 miles of riding and 12000-15000 feet of climbing PER DAY.
No entry fee. No prizes. No bullshit. No sag wagons, No suggested route, No outside support. Once you leave you are totally on your own. There will be nothing at the checkpoints, you will take a photo of an existing landmark to prove your team was there. No other amenities other than water from a well, compost toilets, a place to put your tents, and beer. Yes, we will have beer.
