I just walked into the office after one of the best examples of commuter paybacks, ever. I was coming into Schenley via Squirrel Hill(where Blvd. of the Allies begins) and this S-U-V mofo coasts through a stop sign while looking right at me and right into traffic. I hit my breaks and skid less than 5 feet from him. We both come to a stop light, and I yell at him " Stop means stop"(and a ton of other stuff that would ban me from this sight.), and the whole time he's yelling back, "screw you", "get off the road". Basically he was saying that we have no rights blah-blah-blah. He couldn't understand that he has to follow traffic signs just like I do. Then, from behind me, I hear a Police siren. The two cops in the wagon asked both of us what happened. I obviously gave the right account, not to sound holier than thou. The driver makes up something like he had to come blazing into traffic, or I would have veared into him if he would have come to a complete stop at the stop sign. The Cops both look at him and at the same time say "Bullshit", "We watched the whole thing from right up the hill." They asked me for my name, asked me if I was alright, and procedded to pull this guy out of traffic, and write him a citation. I said thanks, and rode the rest of the way to work with a smile. Word!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Niec story...

And on the notion of SUV's....I've got some stickers on order, 8.5in long x 1.38in high, black with white text, reading "I hate your SUV". I've got a window sticker on my car as does my roomate and I must say, the stares we get are priceless.

Hey Brad, Do you drive a Honda that also has that SUV sticker, and a DR sticker? I saw it once getting onto the parkway from Squirrel Hill with two trials bikes on top. That sticker is Hilarious! I've been telling people about that bumper sticker for a while. Where can I pick one up?

Thats my car, no questions about it. Musta seen me while I was on my way to Candytown or something... you don't happen to ride trials now do you?

The sticker on there now is home made, my girlfriend and I made half a dozen window stickers a few months back. The vinyl ones I got made just appeared in the mail today. Just drop me a line and I'll get one to you.

Are you Max Kellogg who ordered the DR stickers a few days ago? If so, you've already got my email address. goride@dirtragmag.com

Great story! I saw something similar happen a bit back. Part of my commute to work is on a highway. As I approached the highway from an intersecting street a jacked-up truck (actually, I like these even less than SUVs) barely slowed at the stop sign before blasting out on to the highway. Not only did he run a stop sign, the car he cut-off at 60mph was a state trooper. I could see the look on the cop's face as he ripped a u turn and turned on his lights - I would bet he ruined that dudes day, if not his week.
