I need some guidance on what I may have done wrong and where to get some spare parts. Two weeks ago I rebuilt my 2002 Marathon fork in order to fix a creaking noise. I followed the instructions for installing Marathon Enduro Fork Seals – very helpful I might add – to tear apart, clean, and rebuild my fork. After I reinstalled the fork, the creaking noise is gone however the lockout no longer functions. In fact, it seems that regardless of which setting the three point adjuster is on, the fork functions the same. According to the Marzocchi manual, I need to replace or rebuild both the right side hydraulic cartridge and the left side air cartridge. I don’t mind tearing the fork apart again, but would appreciate any recommendations on just what I should be looking for. Also, where can you get spare parts or replacements for either cartridge? My Web searches have only come up with more seals and the bushings – although the bushings appear to be on backorder for any sites I found.

Thanks,

Steve

The only thing I can really suggest is creating a login at the marzocchi website tech section (http://www.marzocchi.com/Utenti/login.asp?LN=UK&Sito=mtb&URL=%2FUtenti%2FSupport%2FDefault%2Easp% 3Fp%3D1%26LN%3DUK%26Sito%3Dmtb) and and ask them. I know the manuals are terrible but I've gotten decent responses from their customer care regarding DIY work.

I did the same thing on a Rockshox fork once. Turned out there was an omission in the book I had. The dampening cartridge had to be filled and bled in addition to the oil you normally put in the legs. Maybe that's the problem here.
