need help selecting a tire for riding pa. terrain(roots, rocks) I have a maxxis helter on there now but after last ride it is developing a bad bubble on the tread. any suggestions will be helpful. I do see some mud so I need a little tread, although the rain has been far and between this year in the Philly area . Thanks to all that answer and ride hard.:D

The Continental Survival Pro in the 2.1 size should shed mud pretty well. It has an open tread with widely spaced lugs. I've used the 2.3 and I love them, but they don't last long on pavement or hardpack.

I'd like to ask other readers what they like for rear tires. I've used the Contis and was using a Panaracer XC FirePro until last week. I really like the tire and the way it performs, but I've found that in this terrain, that the lugs easily separate from the tread, which can render the tire useless well before the tread has worn out. I never had this problem back east, but with the sharp rocks and hardpacked conditions in Colorado, it seems to occur regularly. I hate throwing away a good tire before its time!
