Ive noticed over the past few months, traffic here in kokomo is getting worse and worse, more congested than ever. It may be just me, but i dont think im crazy. Ive seen bumper to bumper traffic on 31 several times this summer, and the main roads in kokomo are a joke now during rush hour, its sad to say but these are some of the things that make sidewalk riding the norm in urban areas, the roads are crazy so people sadly assume the sidewalks are more safe. Anyone else experiencing this chaos in their home city?

The increase in traffic you mean? Not really, but I've only been here for two years, so my baseline isn't that reliable.
As far as the sidewalk riding, I'm more likely to ride in the road during gridlock than not. Gridlocked cars are the most predictable in the world and are therefore the easiest to get between.
We have seasonal traffic fluctuations because peak tourist season is the summer. So this time of the year there are a buttload of cars here. Normally, I'd agree with Hairy Grump, but around here, when there is a lot of traffic, it is unpredictable and can be dangerous to play in. Sometimes, I find it's safer to act like a car and wait for traffic to move and other times I'll shoot up the curb line and pass the stopped cars--depends if there are Texas license plates around. Today's caveat is that a local cut me off yesterday. The lesson is to always be expecting the drivers to do the worst possible thing, then you'll always be prepared when it happens.
