Wow ! This is some seriously good stuff.
For me it was a bit expensive. I believe it was 8.50 a six pack compared to my standby Saranac Pale Ale which is like 5.99.
But it was actually worth it. The chocolaty color, the body, the bubbles.....mmmmm....imperial stout
Can you tell I'm not a well versed beer snob?

I stole one-out-of-six of these from a buddy this past weekend. I could go on about its chocolatey umber head and lacing, or its rich coffee-cherry-maple-chocolate-roasted-party-in-my-mouth finish, but I'll just say it poured like 10W-30, had tasty brown bubbles and it kicked my ass! Best stout I've ever tried.
Maybe we need to start a new beer thread? It's beer season.

I'm actually afraid to ask myself if the Saranac is better than Guiness:eek:

That's actually not too bad for an Imperial Stout.

How about a beer forum? Hell, if Dave gets a fixie forum, I want a beer forum dammit!

Apples & oranges--both stouts, but Guinness is a Dry Irish Stout while the Saranac is an Imperial. They are two totally different brews.
Sorry for geeking out on ya there. Couldn't help it.

The baddest of baddest ass stouts (and one of the all time great beers) is the Victory Storm King.

High hops, high alcohol, \high taste, and just plain high after one.

I tried some up at the brewery in Kalamazoo 2 years ago. I went there for my favorite which was Java Stout but Expedition ended up tasting better at the brewery.

You forgot you will get the blackest poop and extremely stinky farts after drinking 2 or 3 of these.

I'm not surprised -- have you ever had their Kalamazoo Stout? Great stuff.
Another one you might like is Brooklyn Dark Chocolate Stout. Great beer, but definitely a sippin' beer. A bit on the strong flavor side (in fact, we made a beer bread with one and it came out like chocolate pound cake! That was awesome.)
