She has some fresh negative press.
I've been meaning to take a listen. Just listened to 2 songs on youtube. She may be a train wreck but her talent is very exciting.

I guess I'm just old ...
Listening to those 2 "songs" was about as enjoyable as having an ear infection :(

i really like her too, but i've got to say this is one of the last places i'd have expected to also like her.

She's definitely heading the Janis Joplin route, but I admire her talent. If you're into jazz vocalists and artists like Jill Scott you'll probably like her as well.
I liked her stuff at first, but the train wreckage is not good. I'd rather a little Diana Krall.

I do like Dianna Krall. She needs just a little more edge for me to add it to my jazz collection. I'm not getting any Amy Winehouse either though.

Just wondering if she will be dead before Brittney, Lindsey, Pete Dougherty or Paris....but then again she may go and pull a Keith Richards on us.
I've watched a few of her Youtube videos and I dont like that style of music. I did enjoy watching some of her mumblings and incoherent statements on some BBC shows however. She is a grade A train wreck.

That's where Winehouses's sound comes from. Sharon Jones, to put it lightly, has saved R+B.
Thanks Sharon!

That's a funky act for sure. However,I will stand by the uniqueness of Amy Winehouse in spite of the fact that I am not going to add her to my music collection. She's got an egyptian/atlantian flair.

I said no, no, no
Yes I been black, but when I come back,

I see this woman as a fiercly talented space alien who came to earth w/ a couple u-hauls of pain. Earth beings will most likely not be able to reach her. Ever.

I downloaded this album long before it was available in North America at the suggestion of a friend. I have to say that after more than a year of listening, she has held up well. My wife likes it too, which is more than I can say for much of the music I want to listen to. It's too bad that her personal life is such a wreck. I can't see her having a long career in music.
