I was out n aboot doing some Christmas type shopping.
Then it happened. I saw this chick or dude(unsure) late 20's type person blocking my path in the electronics arena. I smiled and said "excuse me" and he/she or they let me by. As I walked past I felt remorse and sorrow for this person, you see, they had Juggalo outlines tattooed on their face. Clearly they had moved on with their life, but they would forever be a Juggalo.
What is a Juggalo? WTF do I know.....?

Ask the ICP.

That is a sad story.
Caught an ICP live show a few years ago. Entertaining. Enjoyed it, thanks in no small part to the fact that I was out of range of the Faygo spray.
I think the old saying fits: "Always leave them laughing."
Though, to this day, I'm not sure if I was laughing with them, or AT them.

I thought I was pretty well versed in the culture, but I must admit I'm at a loss here. What does any of this have to do with fixed gear bicycles?

AFAIK, there is no ICP/fixie correlation. I think it was meant as comentary on how subcultures with their own norms of what is cool can be pretty funny when observed from the outside.
FE: ICP; a bunch of urban white guys who get off on fat chicks, drinking Faygo, and calling each other Juggalo (which has no meaning other than what they give it). I'm sure it seems really cool to them, but from the outside, it looks kinda silly. ;)
Kinda like white belt/girl pants/I cut my own hair/I drink PBR might look kinda funny to the average trail rider, or anyone else that's not a hipster :p

Rob, the Olympics were on TV. I think I was about 12. There were these guys racing on an oval track on bikes that moved with a grace I had never seen before.
White belts were for old men, girl pants were for girls, people who cut their own hair were poor or weird or something, PBR was for rednecks and working stiffs and a hipster was Kookie on 77 Sunset Strip.
Fast forward 40 years and I stumbled on a guy named Sheldon. Singlespeed was the logical thing for a guy that didn't want to mess with shifty bits. Fixed gear seemed even more so. Sorry if I don't fit into your preconceived notion of the typical fixed gear rider, but really, that's your problem, isn't it?

Karl, I wasn't trying to be a hall monitor or nothin'. The term just didn't register.
Maybe we can organize an alleycat where the prize is a case of Faygo and a spoke card with a picture of a fat chick or some shit. Hey, that could be fun...

Dave, yinz likely didnt have enough foil on the rabbits ears or a younger brother to stand and hold em annat. I watched soviets and mercans battle over hockey pucks.

Don't sweat in, man. As long as DR has chosen to host all these different categories, I may as well do my part to keep things tidy.
And as Myron said, "it was neer meant to be in the fixie forum, it was just a case of forgetting where I was for a moment."
So it all fun and extracurr games now!

No, this was probably 1964. The Olympic track races made a HUGE impression. I flipped the bars on my coaster brake cruiser, took off the rack, fenders and tank and ran the seatposte up as far as it would go. I had it bad. And even in those days we had cable. And there were fixed gears long before I drew my first breath.

You see, according to them, I'm not cool either. Lights, fenders, Gary bars, 38c's, a helmet, blinkie bar ends fer chrissakes! And that's not even counting that I prefer wool sweaters to hoodies and Rusty Nails to PBR. Nope, I'm not cool at all. But fvck 'em. I have more fun, and in twenty years, they'll be wondering what was so cool?:p

Jeeze, Karl, maybe you should put this thread back in the fixie forum.
Sorry, mans.

I remeber ICP before bush-laden drove Howard Stern off the regular airwaves.
Those guys vs.. Sharon Osbourne was always a good battle.
Hard to believe they had fans serious enough to tatoo themselves.
