My mid-80s Panasonic. At 71cm, the thing is pretty much too big, sort of a novelty item, generates a lot of comments from other riders, like "What in the hell is that?" and "Dang what a big bike!!" However! It is light and fast, a nice steel ride. It's got 165mm cranks and 42/17 gearing. Not too shabby on the city-rides and Tucson area hills, but mostly a commuter these days.

damn that thing is huge. i know this guy jeff who's actually tall enough that he rides bikes that big, i think his commuter is a panasonic too.

I'm 77.7" so it's tough to find bikes that fit right. This beast gives me about 1.5" of standover- a little close for comfort if you ask me! Nobody at the LBS can even get on it!...It just feels too big when I ride it.

...A friend gave me a sleek old Gilmour that fits me much better but I need to have a nice set of clinchers built for it. That's going to set me back, that is, if the rims I purchase are going to be equal in quality to the parts on the rest of the bike. I'll post a couple photos of the Gilmour- it's a looker.

Gilmours are nice! Hecho en Tucson. Used to see a few in New Mexico.
