That's just the Maverick Speedball. They bought the rights to manufacture it around Eurobike 2007.

Joplin is the name of a steep-ass, loose and near-suicidal trail in the mountains just south of my office. If I had my field glasses I could probably just about see it from my window. IIRC, Crank Bros is from 'round these parts, I would guess that's where they took the name for that post, which would be handy on said trail.

Nope, never seen one. Looks nice.

And they'e added a splash of orange colour to what was silver and black anodized bits. Otherwise it's the same as the Maverick Speedball.

Why do they only offer them in those two sizes? So all the Specialized and all the Fisher owners can have one and no one else can? I'd love one, but need some different sizes. I think a post like this would be perfect on almost every "all-mountain" bike.

It would fit my Santa Cruz. :D

It's the size of the gas cylinder assembly, it currently won't fit in a smaller seatpost than the 30.9mm, although supposedly a 27.2mm post was in the works. That would provide some options for shimming but most of the All Mountain bikes seem to fall in the 30.9mm or 31.6mm sizes. The 30.9 fits my Slayer SXC nicely.

I prefer the crotch grabbing to more handlebar and top tube clutter myself. :D
