I ordered a bike from a popular mailorder site. And had trouble with it from the start. The CS was the worse, without even knowing who I was they accused me of not being able to work on bikes and that was my problem:mad: I ended up sending the bike back and ended up losing over $100 in shipping. The company did not want to accept any responsibility that they sent me a bad bike. Watch who you order from. I then ordered a SS conversion kit from Misfit cycles. They had great support ,and after a couple emails, I had my old Cannondale Killer V(not Super V) made into a SS machine. Not bad for some who doesn't know how to work on bikes:p. So my point being is watch out for the difference between mailorder bikes and quality bikes that are sold through the mail:)

A similar thing happened to me, only at a bike shop. When I explained to the employee there that the dropouts kept bending out of shape under braking, he told me I didn't know how to tighten bolts, and that the problem I was describing was impossible. He did this quite rudely, in front of my wife. I was livid. Got the frame warrantied (after several months), and promptly destroyed the replacement frame. Given the runaround again. Took from March to, if I remember correctly, September or October to get the problem resolved. The solution to the problem? Getting a Misfit DiSSent instead. No problems since. The bike is both stronger and lighter than the frame it replaced. Oh, and cooler (skulls!).

My LBS picked up the rights to distribute Mountain Goat Cycles. So I'm sorta lusting after one of those. But I'm tempted by Misfits also. They are such cool people. Being that a few years back I was in a Mountain Bike club based out of Leamington, Ont. I suppose I could look at them as being a LBS. I'll never buy a cheap bike again, because all they are is CHEAP:eek:

Yep, mailorder bikes can be like mailorder brides...

...except with less Russian content, typically.

Think of MisfitPsycles' product as a hot, black, Taiwanese mailorder bride. :D
