My new (used) '04 Gary Fisher Cake3 DLX. I bought this from a buddy of mine who only put 400 miles on it. He sold it to me for $300. It was all stock when I got it so it doesn't have the highest end of components on it but I'm slowly upgrading and making it my own. Race Face cockpit, Maxxis tires, Race Face cranks coming soon, etc...

My first bike was a Fisher. I'm gettin' a little misty eyed.;)

Thanks guys. My buddy said he'd sell me his bike for $300. I went to look at it and saw the Black Elite fork and Hayes brakes and said yes right there. LOL. The bike I'd been riding was my old 1999 Giant Warp. Talk about a tank. 37 lbs of "trail bike." The Fisher is just over 29 lbs. It rides so much nicer. Smoother, quieter, and just easier to ride.

jerman, since you had one of these maybe you could help me figure out what year this thing is. My buddy thought it was an '05 but I researched a little and it seems like the '05 came with different suspension than this bike did. I think it's an '04. He didn't have any of the paperwork from the purchase and it doesn't say on the bikes stickers anywhere. Any idea?

I would check the Cannondale Forum at MTBR.com

Sorry, didn't mean to come across as an expert. My first MTB was a Fisher Tassahara hardtail. Acid green in color and my introduction into true fun on a bike. Can't help you on the year of the bike. I wouldnt worry about that cause for $300 you got a steal of a deal.
