my buddy is working on getting a bike fabricators club started at my college. we just had a meeting and i saw some really cool stuff

the first pic i of his custom wheels. his spoke pattern is crazy! drive side has 2 leading/1 trailing spoke. non-drive side is that reversed, but since the drive side has higher tension it works out. i'm told that it works and gives you more efficiency. crazy.

the second is a steel/carbon road frame he made. he had to custom fab the steel to work with the rear carbon parts since easton only makes it for al frames. this thing is awesome as hell

3rd and 4th are a full squishy steel frame he made for his wife. the bike he rides is pretty much the same, but v-brakes in the rear.

last is a frame that the guy starting the whole club made. nice lugged steel frame.

2 more pics in a second...

damn 5 file limit!

1st pic is a closeup of that road bike. check out the cable housing posts, and especially the lower lug on the steer tube. it come up a little high, and it's unpainted stainless steel so that cable-rub doesn't f*^& your sh*t up

the second is a steel 69er. this is one of the hottest bikes i've ever seen in my whole life. the fork is a carbon white bros fork incase you can't tell from the pic

i love looking at very differnt bikes. thanks for the pics.
and i think that wheel would be cool with the non drive laced radial.

Ooooo the road bike is sexy. And that last one looks Jeff Jonesesque, but even prettier. Thanks for sharing.

Great stuff.

Who built that curvy 69er with the carbon white bros fork up front? I dig it!

Any details on the full squish?

no specs or anything, but i can tell you first hand that it's lighter than a lot if not most AL hardtails. this guy has probably built more bikes than i've ridden, and according to him he never builds the same thing twice. so if he didn't like the way his rear suspension design handles, he wouldn't have built his wife's frame around the same concept as his frame
