Chris Currie from Speedgoat let me ride his bike last weekend at 24 hours of Seven springs. It's best described as a 29" Titus Racer X, and it's prototype for Speedgoat's upcoming line of bikes called asylum.

Needless to say, the ride was super-sweet. Very fast and good on the rock gardens, i thought I was cheating!

Mighty Mo made a pit stop during a lap on the Speedgoat 29er. I asked him if he needed anything, "Oh, maybe a little lube," he said. He then went on to do some raving about the bike. I headed towards the sizeable ride (Mo is not a short man, ya know) and as I continued to get closer I started to notice that it didn't have just a little bit of mud on it, it had entire bogs of mud on it. I couldn't believe the thing was still mobile. I did my best to clean up the drivetrain, put a fresh coat of Pro Link on it, and sent him on his way.

There couldn't have been a better proving ground. Speedgoat Chris does good work. And, he hooked me up with some brake pads which became a very valuable commodity (thanks again, Chris).

The bike looks nice, but looking at that expression, I have to say, eat some prunes or something, you'll blow an o-ring pushing that hard.

Seriously though, how do 29's work in terms of off the line snap? I would think the acceleration wouldn't be as good as on a normal 26'er, but I might be wrong.

Well, no they're not that fast "Off the Line" but just wait a minute, you'll be zoomin.

The main question where 29's are concerned is "Who should ride them?" Like preobly not smaller people.

Maurice could I have a bigger version of that picture - I would love to put it on our website (http://www.gbbc.de/)!
