Did you ever get to Memphis to see her? It was an interesting side trip between Graceland and the Peabody ducks. Anyhow, they’ve apparently given her (back?) to the USAF and she’s being restored to go on display in their Dayton museum. It’s a shame she no longer is in her namesake city but she was being kept outdoors there. And an airplane by its nature will deteriorate if not maintained in a controlled climate.
I had the pleasure to meet Mr. Morgan at Oshkosh in, IIRC, 1991. And Chuck Yeager and Burt Rutan. And a passel of the AVG guys. It's one helluva show.

The reference is allegorical. But it does need a personal pronoun; the actual title is "The Man Who Flew the Memphis Belle".

I saw the Memphis Belle on display at Mud Island in Memphis in the mid-90's. I was amazed how small a B-17 really is…say compared to a modern 737.

My dad took me to the Dayton museum many times when I was a kid. Awesome place. The Belle will fit in well there.
Chuck Yeager; that guy shits nails.
Yeah man, that's the title of the book. I agree that it should have been altered slightly - the man who piloted the belle or something along those lines...

Great book and movie. Those cats had serious balls to get up in those early orbiters / planes.
