I cruised by this forum to check out the picture of Maurice riding one of my 29'ers, and figured I might as well say hi and offer my help to anyone with 29'er questions. I don't know everything, but I own three different 29'ers (some more bizarre than others), and I think I've ridden every tire currently available for 29'ers (used most of them both tubeless and tubed), and I'm always goofing around with suspension forks and stuff, so if anyone has any questions about our Asylum Racer-X project or just wants to say hi, I'm all ears. --Chris@speedgoat.com

Chris, I'm all over your Asylum project! Fill us in on some details, eh? Price, travel, dimensions, options, colors, expected delivery time. I was thinking of going to Titus themselves and have them do one up for me, but if you're already heading that direction, I may go to you! Fill us in man!

Right now, we're concentrating on the first size production run. Top-tube length will be 24-inches, and the standover is expected to be under 28-inches (we use a 31.6mm post and fairly radical sloping top tube, so I'll be anxious to measure actual 'real bike' standover--could be closer to 27-inches). The first run will arrive here nothing but bare-ass ball-burnished; from here, we plan to send some on to Carl at Vicious Cycles to be 'seriously custom painted,' and we will offer pretty much anything the customer can dream up as a custom paint upcharge.
We're still working on graphics, pricing, and packages (we're talking to White Bros. about a 20mm through axle fork and may offer a complete 'bombproof 29'er' build with King hubs, the custom White Bros. fork (Marzocchi fork will always be an option as well for traditional QR hubs), and complete discounted kits. I suspect frame pricing will be roughly comparable to the current Racer-X, but the frames will include your choice of Progressive 5th Air, Manitou Swinger 3-way or Fox ProPedal rear shock. I hope to see the first batch just after Interbike--before the end of October--and we'll have one built for test rides here at the shop as soon as they arrive (my current 29'er RX is always here as well).
Thanks for checking in with me, and I'll try to keep the forum posted on any developments with the project. You can also reach me directly at my shop email, the chris@speedgoat.com.
Take care,
Chris

Lucky for me, the first size run will have a 24" top tube, sign me up, Chris!

Maurice,
I just found out I'll be able to spec the bikes with stable platform Manitou Swingers, Fox ProPedals, and 5th Element air shocks, if there's a specific shock you wanted to try.
Talk to you soon,
Chris
