Ahhh...spring is almost here. Soon I will have my trusty Panasonic Touring Deluxe (1986 model) back on the road. This was the first winter I can remember in recent years that I havent ridden it. I tore it apart over the holidays to get her repainted and it is finally finished.

Since I couldnt bare to drape old parts on this trusty steed I added:

Thomson Elite seatpost
Jagwire Gold cables
Terry Titanium Fly saddle
Salsa stem
Salsa Rasta tape
Ringle Peace sign cable hanger
New Shimano bottom bracket (unsure of the model)
Ritchey 1 inch threaded headset
New axle in rear wheel (the old one was shorn apart and would have possibly lead to some kind of ugly failure)
Jandd frame bag
Bontrager Select K 27 x 1 1/4 tire in the rear

And most importantly the powder coat paint job that the fine folks at Durable Powder Coaters did for me. If you are interested PM me and I will get you their info. They love doing bikes and I saw the most amazing shade of electric blue I have ever seen in my life when I went to pick up my frame. Had I seen it initially I would have opted for it, but I'm still totally satisfied with how this green with the gold fleck turned out.

I also wanted to thank Scooter for doing the tough stuff like bottom bracket and headset installation. Dirty Harrys is a fine shop indeed.

Now I just need to put some miles on her.

Did somebody throttle that damn Ground Hog yet??

You're doing it in AUGUST?!?

Crap, I was going to do the MS-150 in Sept. I was hoping the Katy ride would be sooner (and cooler, August is H-O-T).

237 miles. And is that a weekend ride? If I'm ever lucky enough to ride a bike across country it will be on this Barkalounger on wheels.

I just stumbled across this thread again...

BTW, the Katy was indeed H-O-T.

a few companies made similar bars a while back. i've seen several of them in recycles from time to time, you should check if you're interested
